How billing works here.
- Consultation and diagnostic charges are payable at the time of the visit and are usually not covered by insurance.
- Cataract and most surgical procedures are covered by the majority of health policies, subject to waiting periods in your plan.
- LASIK and other refractive procedures are treated as elective by nearly every insurer and are typically not reimbursed.
- Pre-authorisation for planned surgery normally takes one to three working days. Emergency admissions are processed immediately.
- We give you a written estimate before any procedure is scheduled. If the plan changes during treatment, you are told before the cost changes.
