Dr. Swapnil Bhalekar is a fellowship-trained cornea and ocular surface surgeon with 18 years of experience in ophthalmology, specialising in cataract surgery, corneal transplantation and complex ocular surface reconstruction. Trained at PGI Chandigarh and LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, his work spans advanced cataract and refractive surgery as well as some of the most challenging disorders of the cornea and ocular surface.
With 50,000+ cataract surgeries and 1,000+ corneal transplants, he has extensive experience in managing keratoconus, chemical eye injuries, Stevens–Johnson syndrome, limbal stem cell deficiency and severely compromised ocular surfaces.
